Old JAPANESE ARTS & CRAFTS WATERCOLOR Signed HIROSHI
Here's an old, not sure of exact age, 20 TH Century Japanese hand painted Arts & Crafts style watercolor that's 7 1/4 x 10 7/8" mounted on back of a 11 1/4 x 14 13/16" cutout mat with several poster stamps with Swiss scenes dated 1929. Features an interesting landscape & water scene, including a boat on the shore, with a view of looking out towards and island. Watercolor & mat are in very fine original undamaged condition with very little if any wear. Artist signed in red on lower left of what looks like Hiroshi but not sure. Watercolor comes direct from an old Minnesota estate where the owners had spent time in Japan and decorated their home with old Japanese art. |

| Artist Bio: |
The artist Hiroshi painted the more popular scenes of Japan for the tourist market (i.e., Mt Fuji, cherry trees in spring, winter snow, autumn, temple torii gates and lanterns, ocean boats, etc.). He always singed his paintings 'Hiroshi', underlined. This is not the artist Hiroshi Yoshida, who usually painted more rustic scenes and signed his paintings 'H Yoshida'.
