Up for auction is a beautiful vintage Japanese watercolor signed Bunya. The scene depicts a man on a river, using a pole to make his way acrossthe river to his village. There is a bridge in the middle ground with a solitary figure watching the course of the boat. In the background is the great Mt Fugi draped in a lovely snow pack.
The colors are mellowed yellow [sky and river], muted blues and purples in the mountain and earthtones make up the village and trees.
It is well excuted and in excellent condition. It measures 10.25" x 13.75". The contrast in the original are more muted than in the photos. |
