Fine watercolour of Lake Hakone, signed ‘S. Takeshi’, circa 1920. I don’t know this artist, but he would appear to be of that generation of Japanese artists who painted in the Western style – a style which, in turn, had been heavily influenced by traditional Japanese woodcuts, etc. In excellent condition, approximately 9 inches x 11 ½ inches.
