Seiji Sano is one of those artists you want to get in on early -- as many of you did when his remarkable CWAJ entry, Gazing at Autumn, sold nine straight weeks in my offerings before Christmas.
I offer two more Sanos now. Here is a Sekino-like beauty-- Shining Wind. The fronds are sprinkled with mica, as Saito would have done. He is a young traditionalist of great promise.
The work is appropriately named "Shining Wind," a woodblock that measures oban size 17 x 12 1/2 with the image 15 x 10 1/4. Edition: 68/200. Year 2004 (Sano is most prolific.)
The print is pristine, new from him, signed in pencil and also sealed |
