Japanese woodblock print, original Tokushi Katsuhira. This is a truly iconic print, one of the finest of the sosaku hanga movement. Pictured in many books on modern Japanese prints. Titled Sao-Toh (Lantern Pole). Dated Showa 13 (1938). The print is oban size, about 15 x 10 3/4 plus full margins. Signed and sealed, dated and titled in the margins. Stunning color and impression. Excellent condition. Minor toning verso, due to "protective" cover (no longer present). This is an exceptionally rare print. The only copy I have ever seen is this one.
