Monday, 11 September 2006 An awesome OWL serigraph/silkscreen by renowned contemporary Japanese artist/printmaker Yukio KATSUDA (b. 1941). This serigraph image size is 15 in. (H) & 21.5 in. (L). There are 2 in. margins all around the image so the actual paper size is 19 in. (H) & 25.5 in. (L). The frame size is approximately 23 in. (H) & 30 in. (L). I am selling ONLY the Serigraph but will include original frame, matting, back mat & wood backing. There is No Glass. The reason being is…that this serigraph will ship better in a proper frame size box. The serigraph is so textured & thick with heavy ink that it will be too risky if I try to roll it up in a tube. This serigraph was purchased in Japan by a U.S. Naval officer during the 1970's while on tour there. He chuckled that all his fellow officers were running around Japan buying woodblock prints to bring back home. They were all hoping that one day their investments would increase in value & pay off nicely! And then he went & sold it to me! He has his own gallery in Japan. His artwork sells in the $3,000 to $4,000 dollar range. This serigraph is Signed. It is Number 36 out of a 100 limited edition size. It has been assigned NO. 133 instead of a title. Condition of serigraph is very good. There is some minor matt burn & toning on backside of print from mat board. |
