Pillar Print: Courtesan

Artist: Kiyonaga
Format: Hashira-e (Pillar Print): 27" x 4.75" approx

Subject: One of Kiyonaga's majestic pillar designs, a courtesan passing a tea-house.

Date: 1780's

Condition: Slightly trimmed at left edge. Laid down on thin Japanese paper. Roller marks. Some wear. Paper a little toned. Minor edge damages, marks and flaws. Generally quite good state.

Colour: Very good, the fragile blue still well preserved.

Impression: Very good.
