Note that there may be some inaccuracies: Saturday, 19 August 2006 Guaranteed original Japanese woodblock print ARTIST: Tsuruoka Kakunen SUBJECT: Carmel, California (numbered edition: 70/100, signed, dated & numbered in pencil) PUBLISHER: Watanabe (print bears the Watanabe "E" seal) DATE: 1938 PROVENANCE: Obtained directly from the artist's family SIZE: Oban design measures 10.25" x 15.25" CONDITION: Excellent color, impression, condition. NOTE: Kakunen was a shin hanga artist who did only a handful of designs including several San Franciso subjects. That Watanabe (publisher of Hasui, Shinsui, etc.) published his work is testament to how skilled an artist he was. His prints are generally hard to locate. See images
