Note that there may be some inaccuracies: Wednesday, 14 July 2010 Vintage 1930's Japanese Framed Wood Block Print. A white egret is perched on a snow covered evergreen branch. It appears to be waiting out a storm with slanted lines depicting rain or sleet. Black and white, signed. Artist Chopewa? (I can't quite make out the English name written on the back, and I don't know how to read Japanese). The framed piece measures 12" x 21". The image measures 6 1/2" x 14 3/4". The print can easily be removed and reframed if desired, it is attached to a backing paper only at the top. This piece is framed to match other woodblock prints I have listed.
	Artist Bio:	Published via Takemura Hideo in the 1930s. We originally read the signature scrawl as 彰世 (Akiyo) but a recently discovered print has an artist seal that clearly reads 朝花 (Choka) - see item 47147 in the database.
