The artist
Tokushi Katsuhira(1904-1971) was born in Akita. He came from a family of papermakers. He learned woodblock printing in the early 1920's. He first exhibited with the Nihon Sosaku Hanga Kyokai in 1928. His work focuses on the festivals and customs of his birthplace. They are of consistant high quality. |
