Japanese woodblock of a koi fish with signature in Japanese, believed to be by Japanese artist, KONEN - circa 1900, framed and matted.

A simple and serene scene of a Japanese koi fish in a pond with its head above the surface of the water. Swimming nearby is a group of tadpoles, and in the upper left hand corner are flowering lily pads. The color of the fish is a soft peachy gold, and the water is a soft blue.

The print, as viewed through the mat, measures 8 1/2" x 10 3/4". It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION for its age. Print is in a birds-eye maple frame, and has been archivally matted and backed with acid free mat and backing. The entire piece including the frame measures 15 1/2" x 17 1/2".
