Shiro Takagi (1934 - ); A modern woodblock print artist born in Japan in 1934. Like his colleague Fujita, Takagi was a student at the Musashino College of Fine Arts. He also studied under the noted woodblock artist Amano Kunihiro. Takagi’s prints subjects varied from images with a distinctly pop-art feel in the 70’s to more subtle landscapes and nature subjects. His color palette is somewhat bold without being overwhelming. Takagi’s prints are all pencil signed and numbered limited editions, look for that information in our auctions of his works. Takagi’s works are becoming increasing collectable especially some of his earlier designs and his works are thought to be a good area of investment by many dealers in Japan.
