Impression Printed in thick, oil-based inks on a pliable, Chinese paper of middle thickness. The thick oil colors give the print the impression of an oil painting.
Condition very good … minor creases and one small part of lower right corner missing (see image).

Description Composition in strong and bright colors with with two women in colorful costumes and several birds hovering in the air.
Note Hao Ping is one of the 60 contemporary Chinese woodblock artists selected for the collection of the London based Muban Foundation.

Artist Bio: 
Hao Ping is a talented woodblock artist with concern on history and minority culture in south-eastern China. His first woodcut exhibition was held after "cultural revolution" and then he became more and more influential in the modern Chinese printmaking. His woodblock prints feature colorful and fascinating folklore of the ethnic minorities of Yunan province where is also his birth place. Today, this unique style reflects what is called today the Yunnan Art School.

Prints and paintings by Hao Ping were widly exhibited in China, the United States, Japan and Europe. The following national and international exhibition events were listed - some without mentioning a year:

1994 - Hao Ping personal work exhibition - Germany
1989 - copper award of the 7th national fine art exhibition
1983 - prominent work award at the 8th national print exhibition
