Rose by Rakusan Tsuchiya
Stunning woodblock of a rose and buds. This flower has an intense lush beauty that I don’t believe is surpassed by any other woodblock of a rose. The petals give the appearance of pale satin curling at the edge. Deep within the flower heart glows a velvety deep rose color. The leaves are an unexpected combination of silver, rose, gold, and green shadows on a dove blue-green base color. The design is curve on curve forming an elegant, sensual modern look. Rakusan is noted for the attention he paid to detail in his woodblocks. His designs used subtly colored inks, layered by the use of many woodblocks, to make just one print. Rakusan's most famous series is one of birds and flowers. Comes with a certificate of authenticity
