Shunga: While the Husband Sleeps

Artist: Koryusai
Format: Oban yoko-e: 9.25" x 14.75" approx

Subject: While her husband sleeps, a slatternly wife, emerges from the mosquito netting surrounding the marital bed, to receive the amorous advances of another man.

Date: early 1770's

Condition: A little trimmed at top and base. A vertical fold mark. Stains at center base. Minor wormage. Some holes. Overall wear. Minor creases, marks and flaws. Generally, quite good state for such an early Shunga print.

Colour: Some fading

Impression: Fine with gauffrage
