You are bidding on a very rare and beautiful original Japanese woodblock print “Nursing Mother” signed by the famous Japanese Showa Shin-Hanga cartoonist/artist Takidaira Jiro (1921-). Takidiara was born in 1921. Takidaira Jiro was specialized in Japanese cartoon style Shin-Hanga. His woodblock prints are hard to be found and sells for thousands of dollars in Japan today. The size of this woodblock print is 13 1/4x 10 1/2 inches. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. This woodblock print is not attached any backing paper or cardboard. Strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry Washi paper. All four borders are intact. The artist’s signature is at the lower right corner of the print. In the lower left corner of the bottom border of this woodblock print, there is Japanese Kanji meaning “Special” written in PENCIL WRITING. As far as I can tell there are no defects, foxing, or stains, and this woodblock print is in excellent condition.
