The first edition (possibly published in 1878) has a publisher cartouche in the image area (lower right of the left sheet), while a subsequent edition (possibly published around May 1898) has this cartouche removed and the new publisher details printed in the left margin of the left sheet.

Note that there may be some inaccuracies: Monday, 1 December 2008 The loyalty of the Kusonoki clan at the battle at Shijônawate - Kusunoki Shijônawate chûsen nozu - Masatsura Size of each sheet 25 x 36.5 cm. Originally published in 1891, this probably slightly later: the quality of the impression is very good, yet the names of the original publisher and carver have been removed (see bottom left of lefthand sheet). Very good impression, colours and condition: loose, full-size unbacked sheets.
