You are bidding on an EXTRA LARGE very beautiful and rare original Japanese Shin Hanga woodblock print masterpiece “Snow Flower, Bijin-ga” PENCIL SIGNED by the famous Showa Shin Hanga woodblock master Nakajima Kiyoshi (1943-) published by KYOTO HANGA PRINTMAKER IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. The print size is 19 x 14 inches, which is much larger than the traditional Shin Hanga woodblock prints. The colors, which are vivid and vibrant, are in layers. All four borders are intact. The artist’s signature and his chop mark are at the lower right corner of the print. Nakajima Kiyoshi’s PENCIL SIGNATURE is in the lower right part of the bottom border. The title of this print is in the upper right border of the print while the publisher’s chop mark of “Kyoto Hanga Printmaker” and printer and carver’s chop marks are in the lower left border. This woodblock print is not attached to any backing paper or cardboard and strong ink bleeding can be seen through the back of the original Japanese mulberry Washi paper. As far as I can tell there are no defects, foxing, or stains, this original woodblock print is IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.
