The story of a comical journey on foot along the Tokaido highway, made by two roguish men, Yajirobe who was running away from his poor merchant background (seen in the images in a blue over kimono): and Kitahachi, a run-away actor, (seen in a checkered kimono). This first design is a bust portrait of our two heroes within an oval frame. Date: c.1910's Condition: Full size. Japanese album backing paper. Minor marks and flaws. Generally very good state.
