Format: Aiban yoko-e: 8.5" x 10.5"

Subject: A kneeling bijin finding a love-letter from her lover while her maid peers from behind a drape to look at a gift of a Western style statue of Eros that arrived with the letter. A very rare kuchi-e design.

Date: c. 1900

Condition: Full size. Laid down on card. Vertical centrefold. A damage top left corner. A little soiled. Some light stains. Minor creases, marks and flaws. Moderate state.

Colour: Fine colors.

Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage.
