Hasegawa catalog no 1107

Koho (18th century) Japanese. This item is an original woodblock print measuring 9" x 14", with margins, 10" x 15". The condition is very good - no evidence of stains or matburn - never been framed - the glue in the upper corners is visible on the front of the print (see photo). It is attached to a thick paper backing at the top corners with a small spot of glue. The paper is a medium thickness fiber type paper, and when held to the light, faint horizontal lines are visible (similar to a watermark). Stamped in ink on the back of the backing paper is "Koho Early 18th".
