	Notes (first edition)?:	川瀬巴水画 木版画 「吾妻峡」 昭和２２年（１９４７年） This scene was originally carved in 1943, but only a small edition was printed due to war time difficulties. These prints are dated 1943. Later in 1947 a larger edition was printed, including a dating of 1947. From Watanabe Shoichiro: "In 1943, S. WATANABE CO. finished the test printings (only a few copies) for this design. As you know, in 1943, toward the end of the World War II, S. WATANABE CO. lacked for the paper and all the materials for printings. In addition, printers had to go to War. So we could not do it at all." "We could made printings of this on 1947 at last, 2 years after WWII. So there are two types of the date (1943 and 1947). Therefore, the prints dated 1943 is quite few."

	Artist Bio:	川瀬 巴水。1883年（明治16年）5月18日 - 1957年（昭和32年）11月7 日）。大正・昭和期の浮世絵師、版画家。1918年 （大正7年）、風景画家として世に出る。以後、数多くの木版画を発表。 衰退した日本の浮世絵版画を復興すべく吉田博らとともに新しい浮世絵版画の叙情的世界に、自然に肉薄する近代人の視点を導入することにより、独自の世界を展開した。享年74歳。
