Description "Sagi Musume no Sei" (Spirit of the Heron Maiden), dance performance where the spirit of a heron changing into a girl and then become a heron again. The dance intertwines the moods of Heron with many costume changes.

Shin Hanga: The Spirit of the Heron Maiden
Artist: Kokyo Taniguchi Format: Large oban tate-e: 17" x 10.75" approx
Subject: Under an open umbrella, the ghostly form of The Heron Maiden.
Kokyo Taniguchi was originally a student of the Kacho artist Kono Bairei. Kokyo taught at the Kyoto City School of Fine Arts and Crafts and Kyoto Specialist School of Painting. His print works were published by the Kyoto publisher Sato Shotaro. His work is rare.
