ORIGINAL WOODBLOCK BY UMETARO AZECHI(1902-1999) TITLE: UKNOWN, TITLED IN JAPANESE ON VERSO, AND POSSIBLE AT LOWER FRONT BOTTOM. SUBJECT: IS OF MOUNTAINEER HOLDING PERCHED BIRD. POLYCHROME IMPRESSION. SIZE 12 3/4" X 17 5/8", PUBLISHED IN 1955, CARVED, PRINTED AND PUBLISHED BY THE ARTIST. EDITION 30 PRINTS OF WHICH THIS PRINT IS #14. SIGNED IN PENCIL AT THE BOTTOM 55 U. AZCECHI TITLE OR DATE IN JAPANESE? 14/30, WITH ARTIST RED SEAL AT RIGHT. CONDITION: GOOD, COLOR AND IMPRESSION GOOD. NEVER LAID DOWN. MINOR SOILING TO LEFT AT RIGHT BOTTOM CORNERS, SOILING AND SMALL BURN MARK TOP LEFT CORNER, TOP MARGIN SLIGHTLY TONED, WATER STAIN RIGHT OF BIRD AND LOWER FACE, BUT NOT BAD. TAPE RESIDUE ON VERSO TOP LEFT AND MIDDLE.
