Reference Another impression is illustrated in Museum of Art, Kochi (editor). Yamamoto Shoun, Kochi 2005, n. 111.
Conditions: Fine impression with white gofun hand-applied for the snow, very good colours , paper slightly toned otherwise good conditions. First edition with the publisher's name in romanji.

Artist Bio: 
Used the psudonym Shokoku (松谷) in his early career.
明治3年(1870年)高知県に生まれる。絵を山内家のお抱え絵師で狩野洞白の門人柳本圭吾に学び、更に狩野永岳の門人河田小龍に師事し、上京後、図案、染物の原図などを手がけ絵師として立った。明治27年東洋堂より刊行された「風俗画報」の挿絵を担当したのを皮切りに「新撰東京名所図會」と言うシリーズ312図を発表し、こうした雑誌挿絵を主要な活躍舞台としたのであった。 昇雲は維新以降の目まぐるしく変化する文化風俗に着手し、風俗記録画ともいうべき新しいジャンルを確立した。  昭和40年(1965)没
