Subject: An urban widow of the Kansei era (1789-1801). Woman reading a book, her cat sleeping in front of her on a kotatsu (a low table also serving as a brazier).

Publisher: Tsunashima Kamekichi

Date: 1888

Condition: Fine colors. Very slightly trimmed at base. Minor toning, marks and flaws. Generally fine state.

Impression: Fine first edition impression with gauffrage and burnishing. Strong woodgrain visible in the background.
