Utemaro Azechi (born 1902) Japanese Woodblock Print. "ASKING THE BIRD" (TORI NI KIKU), 1956. Measures 14 1/2" x 19". Dated and pencil signed on lower left margin (-56 W. AZECHI). Number 36 from the original edition of 50. Red hanko on lower right. Penciled in both English and Japanese on lower right on back. This woodblock print comes in tones of black background with grey, white, red, green, mauvish yellow, and brown. Water stains on the left side of border and bottom right plus some wet staining on print. Can easily be cleaned up
