RARE Four Seasons Of Tokyo Tokuriki Woodblock Prints! This is our auction containing a Rare Complete Set of Woodblock Prints in their Original Presentation Pamphlet with Boxwood Clasps Entitled FOUR SEASONS OF TOKYO by Tomikichiro Tokuriki and Printed by Uchida Woodblock Printer Takakura, Takeyamachi Street, Kyoto, Japan. Circa 1950 and with the same family since that time; this is a chance to purchase these as they were originally offered nearly 60 years ago. Tokuriki Woodblock Prints from this period are not easy to come by, and that would be one print from a set (maybe $300 or so at your local gallery), but to find a set that hasn't been broken up over all of these years, it is truly special. Each print measures approximately 14" x 10" with the matting and 10" x 7 1/2" inside of that. The prints are listed as follows: SPRING - Cherry Blossoms of Temple Asakusa ---- SUMMER - A Rainy Scene of Niju-bashi Bridge ---- FALL - The Moon Viewed at Shinobazu Pond ---- WINTER - A Snowy Scene of Nihon-bashi Bridge. That's it, each piece is signed and ready for your collection, so don't miss out on this rare offering! This collection has been in my possession for a good while, but originated from a family that was stationed in the military during the 1940's and 1950's. |
