This is a KAORU KAWANO woodblock print with a young girl with what looks like wheat stalks and a full moon or sun. The colors are brown, yellow, black and white. The print is in a beautiful wood frame, matted, under glass and sealed in the back. It is pencil signed by the artist and there is also a red artists chop mark. The frame measures 22-3/4" by 18-1/2". The print is in excellent condition with no foxing or toning. |

Kaoru Kawano was a very popular artist for his distinctively styled depictions of figures, especially children. He uses the wood grain patterns to lender the textures and the mood to the works.
