An old Woodblock Print of a Village, Mountain, Bridge Scene measuring (with frame) 15 ½” X 7 ½” without (14 ¾” X 6 ¾”). A piece is missing (shown) in the top right and some darkening around the top edges, the center bottom has a small rust spot (shown) otherwise no foxing. Overall Black and Blue tones with some light orange in the windows and lantern. |

Narazaki's works were published via Watanabe. According to Merritt (and likely sourced from the ukiyo-e scholar Fujikake Shizuya, 1938), Narazaki Eisho used the art names Fuyo from 1916-1922, and Eisho from 1922-1936.
Note that all of the mitsugiri prints that I have seen are signed "Fuyo" 扶陽, not Eisho, so I suspect the mitsugiri prints are his oldest works (and indeed they do look older than his oban-sized print). Although it has been suggested that Narazaki also published under the pseudonyms of Kyokudo and Shinjo, I have seen no supporting evidence. Indeed, Watanabe's 1935/36 catalogue list all three as separate artists.
