This is an original sosaku hanga Japanese Woodblock print by Kaoru Kawano. The print is sealed and pencil signed in the image by the artist.
The print is in excellent condition. Fine impression, excellent color and registration. Extensive use of mica in the figure. No toning, folds or creases. The print is not trimmed or setdown. Two barely visible specks of foxing in the margin which do not affect the image, and 3 traces of mounting tape residue on the verso. Paper size is 11" x 16.75".

Artist Bio: 
Kaoru Kawano was a very popular artist for his distinctively styled depictions of figures, especially children. He uses the wood grain patterns to lender the textures and the mood to the works.
