This fatastic modernist woodcut print is by xxx and approx. 16 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches. It is in very good condition with full margins. This beautiful print depicts a geisha holding a cage of what I believe to be fireflys :)

Born in Kyoto in 1907, Isoda Mataichirô studied painting at the Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting. After graduating there he studied Japanese-style painting with Kikuchi Keigetsu. Though primarily a painter he also made a number of woodblock print designs via the publisher Unsôdô in Kyoto.
