This is a small woodcut in colors done by artist Kaoru Kawano. A pop art rendition of a young girl holding a small Japanese fan. Interesting use of woodgrain texture as negative space. Minimalistic use of lines and simple form but without failing to capture a distinct expression on the child's face. Rich in color and style using only Burgundy, Black and White. A very stimulating image!
No marks on the front however back has two original tags one which reads "Wood-block print By K. Kawano" The other tag is what appears to be the hand signed name of the artist done in pencil…
