Ukiyoye Comparison of the Cloudy Chapters of Genji: # 46 Artist: Kuniyoshi Format: Oban tate-e: 14.5" x 9.75"
Subject: Shii-ga-moto. Gonta, a pipe in his mouth, stooping to pick up petals which he is putting into his hat; behind him are Wakaba-no-naishi and her son Rokudai-gozen. This is an incident from Sembonzakura.

Date: c. 1845-46
Condition: Fine colors. Trimmed to borderline at right and in bottom margin. Album binding holes along left margin. An edge damage top left. Slightly rubbed. Minor soils, marks and flaws. Generally very good state of preservation.
Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage.
