Beautiful original woodblock print by well known contemporary Japanese artist Kaoru Kawano (1916-1965). Image size is 15 x 10 1/8 inches. It is pencil signed lower right. This piece is in great condition and is professionally matted and framed to a size of 17 x 11 1/4 inches. The print has been freed of all tape which was used to keep it in place in the frame, though there is one spot of a gummy residue at bottom edge of backside.

Artist Bio: 
Kaoru Kawano was a very popular artist for his distinctively styled depictions of figures, especially children. He uses the wood grain patterns to lender the textures and the mood to the works.
