The following information was taken from the original web listing of this artwork. Note that there may be some inaccuracies:
Cyclamen growing in a decorated pot on a stiped tablecloth. Printed probably around 1920, Urushibara (1888-1953) seems to have specialised, at this time, in pictures of plants. He was working then mostly in London, using traditional woodblock techniques. Signed Urushibara and sealed Mokuchu on the block with pencilled signature in the lower margin. It measures 31.6 x 22.5cm. The colours and impression are fine. There is some thinning and some small defects affecting the edge of the margins and it has been carefully backed with very thin Japanese paper |
