Subject: An extremely elegant bust portrait of Hanaogi of the Green-house Ogi ya in Edocho. This is the second print from Tsu hana mitate, a set of four prints illustrated in Shibui, 'Ukiyo-e Zuten' p.78.

Other impressions of this design are recorded in Kruml Catalogue, 12 #21 and as the frontispiece to Binyon and Sexton, Japanese Colour Prints.

One of the rarest of Utamaro's heads.

Condition: Full size, completely untrimmed. Laid down. Some small areas of professional restoration at right edge and base. Some soiling, marks and flaws. Generally quite good state.

Colour: Very good with nominal fading

Impression: Fine with gauffrage
