This Lady purchased a number of these Japanese Woodblocks from an Art Gallery in Chicago in the 1960's. I will be listing two by Kawano this evening. Japanese Artist Kaoru Kawano WoodBlock Print of Girl with Mask. One of these just sold recently on the Ebay Live Auctions by Butterfields. This Framed Print measures approx. 20 1/4" X 15 1/4". Image measures approx. 15" X 10". In Great Condition. Professionally Matted and Framed. Note the original gallery price slip on back. Red stamp signature near left bottom of image.

Kaoru Kawano was a very popular artist for his distinctively styled depictions of figures, especially children. He uses the wood grain patterns to lender the textures and the mood to the works.
