Bridge at Shirakawa by Isoda Matichiro. Genuine woodblock print. Fine condition. Oban size measures 10.7 x 16.0 inches. Title and Gei watermark in left margin, Unsodo publisher's seal, and printer's seal in right margin. Mataichiro Hitsu and red seal in lower right of image. Not dated. Strong ink bleedthrough.

Artist Bio: 
Born in Kyoto in 1907, Isoda Mataichirô studied painting at the Kyoto City Specialist School of Painting. After graduating there he studied Japanese-style painting with Kikuchi Keigetsu. Though primarily a painter he also made a number of woodblock print designs via the publisher Unsôdô in Kyoto.
