The Carp Lady

Artist: Eizan
Format: Oban tate-e: 14.5" x 9.75" overall

Subject: An elegantly dressed bijin wearing a body length Obi decorated with a leaping Carp standing on a balcony with cherry blossoms behind.

Date: c. 1820's

Condition: Very good colors. Very slightly trimmed. Almost imperceptible vertical centrefold. Areas of slight thinning at edges. A tiny waterstain above hem of kimono. Generally very good state of preservation.

Impression: Fine impression with gauffrage.
