Up for your bidding pleasure is a Kawase Hasui woodblock titled Daigo Denpo Temple, Kyoto. This IS a FIRST STRIKE/EDITION. The print is dated 1950 and bears the Watanabe 6mm (black) seal which was used from 1945 to 1957. Many are easily confused with seals, and their time periods, this is a guaranteed FIRST EDITION.

Now, the condition…..what can be said, it is absolutely flawless! It is pristine, it looks as though it were printed yesterday. The print exhibits finely carved details, good bleed through, crisp key-lines and strong, vivid colors. There is no foxing or creasing. No mat-lines and not laid down. The red temple is vibrant and looks as if it is jumping off the print at you. The lifelike reflection on the water is executed flawlessly, and the paper is ever so lightly, evenly mellowed without a hint of toning.
