Playing Go

Wada Sanzo- 20th century Japanese woodblock artist active in the early to mid 1900’s. Wada Sanzo illustrated many Japanese traditions and pastimes such at this group playing go and another famous print of beggars playing a Shakuhachi flute.

Playing Go Wonderful illustration of five men in a traditional interior engrossed in the game “Go”. The men sit in a tatami mat room with traditional screened walls opened to the garden beyond.

Great design, this print is one of the few prints showing the game Go. It is a must have for those interested in this ancient game of strategy that is far more than a simple board game and has enthralled players for centuries.

Wada Sanzo prints- When found in galleries, Wada Sanzo's prints are sometimes sold in the $500-$750 range. This print is a great opportunity to pick up his Go subject at a bargain price.
