The following information was taken from the original web listing of this artwork. Note that there may be some inaccuracies:
Kawase-Kozu, Osaka- 1.jpg is:
Original pre-war (no!) Hasui woodblock with the 6mm Watanabe seal. Signed and sealed lower/right. Image measures 14 3/8" x 9 3/8" (not including the margins). Woodblock is archivally mounted (corner mounts), matted and framed in a 1/2" wide modern 22" x 16" black oak frame. Woodblock has some minor condition problems. General overall toning. A few repaired edge tears with one or two slightly encroaching upon the image. A slight piece missing from the left margin as shown, and a missing lower/right corner which has been replaced. The missing corner did not intrude upon the image. All the problems aren't noticeable unless examined very closely. |
